Google Maps will now predict how crowded your next public transport will be / Google

No one likes being stuck on a train or bus that is jam-packed. Well now, you can have a heads-up regarding your next public transport via Google Maps.

Soon, Google Maps will be adding a feature that will predict how packed the next bus, train, or subway will be. The feature is recently made available in 18 cities and towns of the UK. These include Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Coventry, Crawley, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Reading, Sheffield and Southampton.

Google is planning to roll out the same feature in almost 200 cities worldwide for both – Android and iOS devices.

The Maps feature with the will also start showing live delay information for buses running in an area where local transit agencies don’t already provide data to Google. In their , the company said that the app would show if the bus will be late and how long you can expect to wait for it.

Through these features, the users of public transport will have a better perception of their traveling time and estimated arrival.
